Eco-Homemaker was born out of a frustration in wanting to find products that were truly better for our children and ourselves, whilst looking out for the planet. Alex and myself are a husband-and-wife team who decided to leave our jobs two years ago wanting to do something entrepreneurial but more meaningful at the same time.
We are all about encouraging families, whether from pregnancy to being right in the thick of it with young children, in making small and accessible swaps within their everyday home essentials. We’ve found an incredible range of products, have checked their eco-credentials, tried and tested these on our own children, babies, bump, ourselves, you name it, and ensured they are as effective if not more than your usual high street brands. This way other families can be confident these products are kinder to you, your family and the planet. No need to trawl through hours of research to find the right answer – we’ve done it for you!
A few quick wins when looking at products:
- Swap out single use plastic for plastic free essentials: biodegradable baby wipes instead of plastic containing wipes, compostable nappy bags instead of plastic ones, soap bars instead of shower gels, toothpaste tablets instead of toothpaste tubes
- Find products that can be reused over and over again
- Go for naturally derived products to minimise toxins in your home.

Eco Disposable Nappies by Nü
For months on end, we tested most eco nappies on the UK market, both on our baby and toddler back then, and finally found a winner. We think we now have the softest, most comfortable, and best performing bamboo eco nappy in the UK.
