Centred Mums classes are built on a foundation of Pilates, but we are strong believers in a holistic approach and have seen, first-hand, how progress can be enhanced when our classes are combined with the benefits of other disciplines; from nutrition to meditation and hypnobirthing.
Our work has brought us into contact with many specialists who now form part of the support network we’ve built for mums-to-be, new mums – and mums who’ve been in the job for a while!
Here are some of our favourites:
Acupuncture can be safely and effectively used in pregnancy to treat a variety of symptoms including morning sickness, anxiety, insomnia, moving a breech baby, pre-birth preparation for your due date and inductions. I have been working with pregnant women since 1992 supporting and empowering them through their own unique journeys. Postnatal acupuncture can be used to improve your milk supply, help you cope with mastitis and strengthen/re balance your body to help low moods and tiredness.

I have been a registered Midwife since 1998. I have taught Hypnobirthing classes since 2009 to over 1,000 expectant couples in 1-2-1’s and group classes. These are taught from my relaxing studio at home in St Albans or online over Zoom. I am also a Birth Doula and Placenta Specialist, and Hypnobirthing mum to two wonderful daughters.
Hypnobirthing is a great choice for childbirth education, as it is a complete antenatal preparation course, covering everything you and your partner need to prepare you both for the right birth on the day.
This programme will teach you how to relax emotionally and physically, and plan for a positive birth experience and a feeling of success no matter what path your birth takes. You will learn breathing and relaxation techniques to help reduce fear and anxiety, so that you enjoy a calmer, more relaxed pregnancy, and easier, more comfortable birth. Classes also cover birth physiology, stages of labour, birth positions, birth planning and birth partner’s role.
By the time your baby is ready, you will be feeling calm, confident, and looking forward to birthing your baby!
