Centred Mums provides specialist classes for pregnant and postnatal women in St Albans and online. Our classes are built around Pilates; but bring in all sorts of other elements from nutrition to relaxation and more, to create a supportive, non-competitive environment for you to develop your practice.
If you are pregnant or have ever been pregnant – even if that was 20 years ago! – Centred Mums is for you. Our advice and support in how best to stay active and connected to your body can be truly transformative. If you have abdominal separation, pelvic floor issues, or you are unsure how to manage pain when exercising, then please get in touch as we are sure that we can help you!
Centred Mums was founded by Grace Lillywhite.
Hello, I’m Grace, the founder of Centred Mums. I started this exciting and innovative series of wellness programmes to support women throughout their motherhood journey. I have been working with this wonderful population for over ten years and I can’t imagine doing anything more enjoyable or rewarding!
I am on a mission to let all women know that pregnancy and postnatal exercise, wellness and nutrition can be vital and life changing.
I believe that the way you treat your body during pregnancy, and your postnatal years, will stay with you for the rest of your life. Centred Mums was created because I want to teach as many women as possible how to look after their pregnant and postnatal bodies, and how to connect to their body so they can exercise safely, effectively and in a way that is sustainable.
With the knowledge I’ve accumulated from my continuous professional development, my years of experience working with postnatal women, and my understanding of my own body after having two children, I’ve developed teaching techniques to improve pelvic floor and abdominal function.
I’ve successfully rehabilitated Diastasis Recti (using The Center Method), pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic girdle pain, sciatica, sacroiliac joint problems, disc issues and general back pain in the pre and postnatal period. In 2017 taught teacher training workshops for the Pilates Foundation and I was honoured to be asked to become part of the Faculty for The Center for Women’s Fitness in 2018. I stepped down from this role in 2022 to allow me time for my own ventures but was hugely honoured to be a part of such a wonderful collective for 4 years.
I’ve attended the following pregnancy and postnatal workshops:
