You’ve done a brilliant job of providing a holistic and easily accessible care package for new mums. After I had my daughter, I worried about what exercises I should and shouldn’t be doing (my abs split and I worried about making it worse). I love that the classes are designed for Mums and have total confidence that everything Grace has us do will make us stronger. “I have been attending one of Grace’s classes for almost a year now after a recommendation from a friend. I had diastasis recti (separation of my abdominal muscles) following my first & second child so was keen to strengthen my core & know what I should & shouldn’t do in terms of regular exercise.

Grace has a wealth of postnatal knowledge. She’s very hands on in her classes – checking posture, correcting technique & making sure everyone is feeling the exercise in the right place!

Her classes focus a lot on breathing techniques & abdominal work to strengthen the core but also work on other areas of the body to support these muscles. We do a lot of muscle release work too. The class is relaxing & I go home having spent a full hour focusing purely on me & my body (a luxury with little children!)

I would highly recommend her class to anyone post natal ready to start some exercise & work towards regaining their pre pregnancy body & strength.”

“A knowledgeable teacher and a noticeable change in the body what’s there not to love! Grace knows her stuff! Having suffered with diastasis recti resulting in a bad back for nearly 10 years, working with her over just a few sessions has stopped my back aching and also a noticeably stronger pelvic floor. She is very patient and keeps her classes small so she can give each student her time and energy. I found the initial 1-2-1 at home a really useful introduction to Pilates and myofascial release techniques. The videos on Facebook in between the sessions have been really useful too. After training with Grace for six months, my body is completely different. At last don’t look five months pregnant! Apart from benefitting aesthetically, I am strong and limber and feel very fit . Another surprise was that my running and other sports activities have improved immensely since Pilates training, and I also get far fewer injuries. “With no hesitation, she is the best Pilates teacher and it would be very difficult to find another one like her!”

“When I started doing Pilates I was in a lot of pain and discomfort and was very weak. The way my body feels has definitely changed – my pelvic floor and abdominals are stronger. After less than 10 classes I have less of intense pain ( 5-6/10 not as before 8-9/10) and I am more flexible.

I have done Pilates before, with five different teachers, thinking that people want to honestly help. But now, comparing with Grace’s sessions I think I wasted my time and money before. Grace is there with me every second of my movement correcting and checking my posture constantly, making sure all the time that the bespoke exercises are comfortable to my needs. She understand exactly my problem with posture and injuries. With no hesitation, she is the best Pilates teacher and it would be very difficult to find another one like her!”

“Grace was amazing and really ‘listened’ to my body and the problems I was experiencing with it.”

“After the birth of my 2nd child I was having great difficulty with my body. My knees experienced great pain walking up stairs and my arms ached almost constantly from carpal tunnel syndrome. It was certainly having an impact on my enjoyment of those first few months of new motherhood. Grace was amazing and really ‘listened’ to my body and the problems I was experiencing with it and, by watching me perform some of the exercises, had some fantastic insights as to what was going on and how to rectify the problems I was experiencing. By practising the exercises that Grace gave me my carpal tunnel has pretty much disappeared. My knees are much stronger and no longer feel like they are going to collapse when I put weight on them climbing stairs. I feel so much stronger.

Apart from the obvious changes mentioned above I think that doing regular classes with Grace has changed the way that I do things overall. I now engage my core muscles when lifting things and climbing stairs for example. I think I have a better connection with my body – in that I do things with a mindfulness about what muscles I am using that I didn’t have before.

I have attended Pilates classes before as part of gym memberships. When I started with Grace I quickly realised that I had not actually been doing Pilates properly at all. She has an extremely visual way of explaining to you exactly what muscle you should be using which is fantastic. Often it is such a tiny movement and such an under used part of your musculature that in other classes I don’t think I knew what they were wanting us to do and just copied the movement. In Grace’s classes it hurts! You know you are doing things properly because you can feel it during the class, the next day and in the weeks to come as you find your body becoming much more user friendly.”

“When I was 22 weeks pregnant I had been doing yoga twice a week, but started to feel my fitness levels were suffering and I had lower back pain from my growing belly. When I started Pilates with Grace my back pain disappeared and I felt energised and relaxed.

Pilates helped me stay limber and kept my posture in check, I therefore felt extremely good throughout my pregnancy and was able to stay active right up to labour day. My body felt healthier and stronger – labour is like running a marathon and you need to be adequately prepared, Pilates strengthened my body and in turn prepared me for the birth.

Without a shadow of a doubt, I credit Grace with helping me achieve a healthy pregnancy and prepare for an active labour and a home birth. Grace is a fantastic teacher, she takes the time to understand your individual needs, pregnancy aches and pains, and never pushes you past what your growing body can handle.
