This is more than ‘just’ Pilates.
We’ll address the postural changes and demands to your body throughout each trimester of your pregnancy and use restorative Pilates and yoga-based movement to help you to maintain strength, connect you to your breath and relieve tension. We’ll also work with you to grow awareness of your pelvic floor, as you develop the deep core strength needed to support your baby.
“I genuinely believe Grace’s classes kept me fit, healthy and relaxed leading to the best and most natural birth experience I could have ever hoped for, as well as starting life as a mum in a strong position.” Hannah
Grace absolutely loves working with women at this wonderful time and she’s passionate about giving you the tools for a healthy pregnancy, birth and beyond! She’ll support you through your pregnancy, from the physical changes you experience to any challenges you face in both body and mind. She’s well trained for the role (find out more here) and her experience in hypnobirthing and as a doula are reflected in her style of teaching.
If you’re pregnant, this class is for you! You can start this course at any point after week 13 of your pregnancy – and it’s never too late to begin. We’ll adapt our support as your pregnancy progresses, so you can continue with classes right up until you give birth. Two clients have called us the ‘baby whisperers’ as they each went into labour following their prenatal Pilates classes – with two pregnancies!
After your baby has arrived, you can also consider transitioning to our Pilates for New Mums classes, where your baby will be welcome to join us too.

FAQs
What should I wear? As long as you are comfortable and can move easily, it doesn’t matter what you are wearing. You may warm up through the class, so it is worth considering layers that you can remove easily.
How many people will be in my class? We book a maximum of ten mums onto our pregnancy classes to make sure you get plenty of individual tuition.
Do I have to buy a block of classes? We believe block bookings are the best way to ensure you really see the benefit of the sessions, so we only book this way. We don’t take drop-ins because we want to screen you fully before you start, so we can get to know your body and make sure that you get the most out of the classes.
What will I need? You’ll need an exercise mat and some water along with several pieces of equipment – a spiky massage ball, a TheraBand, an over ball and a ‘magic’ fascial release ball. If you don’t already own these items, you’ll have the option of adding our £25 Equipment Bundle to your order when you book.
Is there parking at the venue for face-to-face classes in St Albans? If you are able to attend a pregnancy Pilates class face-to-face in St Albans there will be parking available, St Michael’s Memorial Hall has a large car park. Please bear in mind when parking, that there is another class straight after this one.
Can all pregnant women attend these classes? We’ll screen you fully before you come along to the sessions. In the case of some medical conditions we may need consent from your doctor or midwife to ensure the safety of you and your baby. In very rare circumstances, your doctor may advise you not to exercise during your pregnancy. Unfortunately, in these cases, the classes won’t be suitable for you.
