Centred Mums provides specialist classes for pregnant and postnatal women in St Albans and online. Our classes are built around Pilates; but bring in all sorts of other elements from nutrition to relaxation and more, to create a supportive, non-competitive environment for you to develop your practice.
If you are pregnant or have ever been pregnant – even if that was 20 years ago! – Centred Mums is for you. Our advice and support in how best to stay active and connected to your body can be truly transformative. If you have abdominal separation, pelvic floor issues, or you are unsure how to manage pain when exercising, then please get in touch as we are sure that we can help you!
Centred Mums was founded by Grace Lillywhite. As the business has grown and flourished, she’s been joined by Joanna Michaelides in order to keep up with demand!
Hello, I’m Grace, the founder of Centred Mums. I started this exciting and innovative series of wellness programmes to support women throughout their motherhood journey. I have been working with this wonderful population for over eight years and I can’t imagine doing anything more enjoyable or rewarding!
As business has grown and flourished, I have been joined by holistic Pilates coach, Joanna Michaelides, and together, we are on a mission to let all women know that pregnancy and postnatal exercise, wellness and nutrition can be vital and life changing.
I believe that the way you treat your body during pregnancy, and your postnatal years, will stay with you for the rest of your life. I want to teach as many women as possible how to look after their pregnant and postnatal bodies, and how to connect to their body so they can exercise safely, effectively and in a way that is sustainable.
With the knowledge I’ve accumulated from my continuous professional development, my years of experience working with postnatal women, and my understanding of my own body after having two children, I’ve developed teaching techniques to improve pelvic floor and abdominal function.
I’ve successfully rehabilitated diastasis recti (using The Center Method), pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic girdle pain, sciatica, sacroiliac joint problems, disc issues and general back pain in the pre and postnatal period. I’ve taught teacher training workshops for the Pilates Foundation and I was honoured to be asked to become part of the Faculty for The Center for Women’s Fitness. I’ve also attended the following pregnancy and postnatal workshops:

Hi, I’m Joanne, I started teaching for Centred Mums in 2019, and I’m passionate about the ethos of supporting women and reaching as many women as possible. I believe this work is vital!
I’ve been practising Pilates for over ten years, falling in love with this form of exercise after seeing the overwhelming benefits, both physically and mentally. I trained with Polestar Pilates, which works to the highest standard and encourages a holistic approach. I have a specialist interest in Women’s Health and have completed the following training:
I can’t wait to see you at one of our classes – in person or online – soon!
